Betty Jean Fields, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2024, at the age of 89. A resident of Hayden, Alabama, Betty was born on February 14, 1935. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norman Dale Fields.
Betty leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory, including her son, Darrell Fields (wife Linda), and daughter, Debrorah (husband Gerald McCracken II). She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Alisha Moore (husband David), Darrick Fields (wife Brandy), Gerald McCracken III, Amber McCracken, and Lakota McCracken (wife Morgan). Betty was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Madison Hughes (husband Brooks), Makayla Fields, Nicholas Moore, Kayden Silva, Amelia Silva, and Easton Silva. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Betty's life will be held on Saturday, May 18th, at Ridout's Chapel in Gardendale, Alabama. The family will receive friends at 1 pm, and the service will commence at 2 pm. Following the service, Betty will be laid to rest at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Corner, Alabama.
Betty will be remembered for her warm spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and the countless cherished memories she created with her loved ones. May she rest in eternal peace.
